What I'm playing
Phone:
This is a gotcha-style collection game with a story and art style I have really enjoyed. I found the new player experience to be one the best for any game of this type I have played. I did spend some money on the "growth fund" in the game to get some skins for a "doll" that I really wanted but I have not felt the need to pay to continue enjoying the game as they give rewards for regular play and log-ins as well as event prizes. If you decided to play, come and join my guild Loxwyld and send a friend request (My ID: 2572595303)! (6)
PC:
I am a lifelong Trekkie. I grew up watching Next Gen and marathoning the original series on the sci-fi channel when I was home sick. So when a friend of mine introduced me to the MMO version of it I was... skeptical. But the game quickly won me over the first time I heard Lenard Nimoy's voice congratulate me for leveling. The game does a wonderful job of creating new content while honoring and incorporating the wide-ranging stories of its roots and dialog from the original actors. Currently playing through the celebration event for the 12th anniversary of the game. (7)
Console:
The original pokemon snap was my favorite game for quite a while when I was growing up. I loved the photography aspect of it and I loved a solo game that was not super combat heavy and reaction time-dependent as I was not very good at either. It's such a chill game and I am going through it slowly but I am enjoying it quite a bit. (8)
What I'm listening to
This project was started by Catieosaurus on tiktok. She make adult ADHD content and she decided to make a playlist of all the songs that people hyperfixed on and needed to play over and over and over. It quickly ballooned into such a massive playlist that she opened it up for others to add their own songs and then once that playlist filled up she started another. I believe there are 4 parts now. (9)
What I'm watching
Geralt
of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a
world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.
I have read the first couple of the witcher books and I am planning to read more (once I get my TBR shelf a little more empty.) In the meantime, my spouse and I enjoyed the show and managed to make it last two whole date nights rather than bingeing it all in one evening like I definitely wanted to do. (10)
What I'm making
Watercolor Birthday cards
I am trying to paint small cards for everyone's birthday this year. I have wanted to do this for years but never could get the executive function together to make it happen. So I have a bunch that I painted up, now to just remember to mail them.
What I'm eating
I have recently rediscovered a love for popcorn, white cheddar is still my favorite by far but I have had some flavored caramel corn and I am hooked. I am currently munching on a bowl of "snickerdoodle" flavored popcorn! EC Pops makes all kinds of fun flavors of popcorn. (11)
What I'm loving
Chronic fatigue makes everything in life more complicated so anything that can simplify some steps for me is a huge win. I have been using instacart since the start of the pandemic but honestly, it's become more of a part of my life now that I have two kids working and I spend so much time driving just to get them to work. Not needing to walk around the grocery store saves me so much energy and I love that I can either get my Aldi groceries delivered to schedule a pick-up time and grab them on the way home from a drop-off or pick-up.
